To add insult to injury, I was low on health, ran out of Medkits, and was almost starving. As I get back I have to fight off more River prawlers and board the cyclops to finally get out, running under 50 power. The purpose of these cubes is to ward off fauna from the nearby alien base, the Primary Containment Facility. I found another crystalline sulfur but after dying I wind up where I left off: 1. Towards the end of the lake, five Sonic Deterrents can be found attached to obsidian mounds by cables. It can be found in the Lava Lakes, Inactive Lava Zone and in the Lost. Typically, a Sea Dragon Leviathan can be found guarding the lava lake. Crystalline Sulfur is a raw material that functions as an oxidant and reducing agent.
They also connect to the secondary entrance to the Lava Lakes, which can be found in a domed depression in the Inactive Lava Zone, named the Lava Pit. These large pits act as entrances to the Lava Lakes and can be found near the Lava Castle. The Lava Falls can be found going from the Inactive Lava Zone above to the main chamber below. Lava falls are a common sight in this biome, along with obsidian pillars and magma formations jutting from the walls and lakes. The chamber consists of a huge lava lake, with occasional lava falls and masses of magma. Small chunk of Sulfur in Lost River Brine Pool. The Lava Lakes are much smaller than the Inactive Lava Zone, but have much more volcanic activity. It can also be divided into two parts: Lava Lakes and Lava Falls. The Lava Lakes can only be accessed by the Inactive Lava Zone, as well as meaning that the Prawn Suit equipped with a Prawn Suit Depth Module MK2 and a Cyclops with a Cyclops Depth Module MK3 can go in it.
This particular biome plays a major role in the story of Subnautica.
Within the Lava Lakes, the Primary Containment Facility can be found. At 1300+ meters down they are the deepest biome on the map. It has the highest ambient temperature of any biome: up to 75☌. The Lava Lakes are a cave biome in Subnautica.
